Mary Ann Bridgwater loves the Lord. She thrives on being a prayer intercessor and leading others to develop and grow in their prayer life. She is co-founder and president of Promise Reapers, Inc., and founder of Pray The Word Ministries.
Mary Ann joined Houston's First Baptist Church (HFBC) in 1979, where she is active in the areas of prayer, having served as Prayer Chair of the HFBC Missions Council, Bible Study teacher, and Intercessor. Mary Ann chairs HFBCs Prayer Ministry Team, is a member of the National Prayer Committee, and leads the intercessory prayer for the community-wide Living Proof Bible Studies. She has created prayer initiatives at HFBC including the Staff Intercessory Ministry and Intercessory Prayer during the worship services.
A frequent speaker and prayer consultant, Mary Ann's passion is guiding others, locally, nationally, and internationally to experience a prayer life where they walk in the awareness of the presence of a Holy God. She has partnered with various ministries in cross-denominational citywide prayer gatherings throughout the fifty states and internationally as well. Her writings include numerous prayer guides as well as a seven-part study on time alone with God, Being Still and Knowing God, Set Me Apart - Consecration Prayer Journal, Personal Consecration Cards and a 10-week Bible Study, Building A House of Prayer. Most recently released is the book, Prayers for the Faithful, which is a daily prayer journal designed to pray primarily for missionaries at home and abroad.
Mary Ann has been married to Roger since 1975, and they have two daughters. Kay is married to Rev. Jerrell Altic, and Jane is married to Wesley Williams. Kay and Jerrell have two sons, Jaykob and Judah. Mary Ann's family frequently serves on short-term international mission trips and all members of the family are active in their respective local churches.
